Stitch and Chat
Bette Hawkins has kindly volunteered her home again for 2019 from 10am-2.30pm.
Bette will provide morning tea but please take your own lunch. Bring something to stitch or knit while you chat! Bette has increased the days to include some Tuesdays, so there will be a greater opportunity to go and enjoy company while achieving something! The dates for these sessions are:
Mondays: 4/2, 4/3, 1/4, 6/5
Tuesdays: 19/2, 19/3, 30/4, 21/5
Overlocker Techniques Workshop 16 February 2019
Overlocker Techniques with Lynne Johnson.
Details: Get your overlocker out and learn to use which stitch when. Halve your sewing time using your overlocker and / or cover stitch. Do not have an overlocker? Use one of mine.
When: Saturday 16 February 2019, 10am-4pm
Venue: ‘Araluen’ Address: 177 Badimara Street, Fisher ACT 2611
Cost: $30, which includes a donation to Araluen for the use of their premises.
What to bring: Your overlocker and the usual sewing supplies and fabric/garment to practice on, morning tea to share and your own lunch. If Lynne has specific requirements, we will send these closer to the time.

Charity Sewing Day
WHAT: making syringe driver bags and heat packs for Palliative Care ACT
WHEN: Saturday 17 November 10am to 4pm
WHERE: Community Room at Araluen Village, 177 Badimara Street, FisherMorning tea and light lunch will be provided.
Donations of pre-washed good quality cotton fabric can be brought to November general meeting or to Araluen.

Time: from 5:30pm; light supper available for $5; business meeting at 7:30pm
Meeting activity – making something small to go in showbags. You need to bring the materials required and some to share to make something small to go in the showbags for the Canberra Show 2019. Some suggestions are – brooches, pin cushions, bookmarks – the list is endless. Something you can make in half and hour or a little more.
